This ancient residence, nestled in the quiet of the Marsala countryside, seems suspended in time and makes you want to never leave. The authentic elegance of the spaces and the peaceful atmosphere make this home a perfect retreat for those seeking simplicity, beauty, and serenity. Margherita, with her kindness and helpfulness, makes you feel as if you've known this house for a long time, and her parents, courteous and elegant, with their discreet presence, add even more tranquility to this oasis of peace. I think it's clear that I'll be happy to return :)
We stayed four days in this delightful residence near Marsala. Our room was very clean and tastefully and thoughtfully furnished in classic Sicilian style. The garden was beautiful, with plenty of spots to relax and enjoy the tranquility. Maxime welcomed us and provided us with advice on where to go for dinner, and was helpful and kind in accommodating our requests. Highly recommended for those wishing to visit the beauty of this part of Sicily, including the nearby and stunning Egadi Islands.
A very pleasant two-day stay! The house is delightful, and Maxime is welcoming and friendly. Breakfast features authentic, homemade products; we found the ricotta cassatelle and plum cake to be delicious. It's located just steps from the salt flats and the pier, but the area is very quiet and peaceful.
This review is for Antica Dimora La Porta del Sale. I'm not sure why the listing has a different name. Beautiful setting, and it was like staying at my grandma's house in a very lovely way. Great breakfast, and I ended up getting really good, inexpensive takeout pizza from up the road (get the pistachio pizza from Pizza Pazza) and eating it in the garden with a kitten to keep me company. To get anywhere east from here, Waze will send you a very circuitous route through very small streets, so don't be surprised.
A beautiful old family country house transformed to host a few lucky hosts. Very nicely refurbished in keeping with the tradition. Family run with lot of care and dedication. Highly recommended!
