Poggio Picenze is a village in the Aterno valley, close to L'Aquila yet already surrounded by countryside. C'era una volta has seven rooms and starts each day with homemade breakfast. Four-legged friends are welcome and there is wifi. It's a quiet base for exploring the city, the Navelli plateau and the villages around it, with the slower pace that the Abruzzo mountains offer.
