The beauty of this place is astonishing!... Immersed in the greenery of the medieval village, every corner of which deserves to be explored, the absolute silence, the attention to detail in the spacious and welcoming, well-ventilated room, sea and hill views, and the courtesy and helpfulness of the owners make it precious and unique! The tasty and healthy breakfasts that Angela prepares with such dedication and imagination, offer a variety of homemade jams, juices, and cakes every day, along with seasonal fruit... The family atmosphere and tranquility make it relaxing, and its rare beauty unforgettable!
What a gorgeous place, and well worth the climb. And you WILL be climbing, as it's near the top of a stunning hill town with unbelievable views of the Adriatic. Fortunately you can maneuver your vehicle fairly close for loading and unloading, and owner Marino was very helpful in helping us find a parking spot, not far away. As we were traveling with my 81-year-old mother, we were able to get to the beach and back by car without much trouble. The younger members of our party were able to walk down to the beach in 10 or 15 minutes. Co-owner Angela was kind and obliging, and FUNNY! When she noticed that I had brought along a bag of biscuits (I love Pan di Stelle) she teased me for bringing store-bought cookies. The next morning I understood why... MAMMA MIA what a lovely breakfast! We stayed three nights and every morning brought a different feast of home-made pastry, bread and jams, with fruit from their garden and fresh-pressed juice (one was a pear/peach nectar that was out of this world). Also coffee, cappuccino, and fresh milk. The table was set beautifully on a small grapevine-covered terrace, with a GORGEOUS view of the sea. (And the funny part is that she always included a small basket of Pan di Stelle for me, although I couldn't touch a one after eating her amazing cakes and tarts!) Our rooms were large, cool and comfortable, and we slept very well. Cupra is a bit noisy thanks to the train and the highway below, not to mention the cicadas, but we were able to block out nearly all the sound simply by closing the windows when needed. Angela and Marino have built something truly lovely, and they are wonderful and attentive hosts. They speak Italian only, but they told me they have a neighbor who can translate English, French and German for them when needed, so even if you don't speak Italian you should feel comfortable going here. Highly recommended if you're able to climb, climb, climb!
Real authenticity! I stayed at Borgo Marano to get away from the usual seaside hotels. The accommodation is located on a hill, a 10-minute walk from the train station. You'll feel the climb on foot, but the view from the top makes it worth the effort. Mrs. Angela and her husband welcomed us warmly with a natural and authentic touch that's hard to find. The room was clean, tidy, well-organized, and had a 5-star view of Cupra. The exposed brick walls are also a plus. The breakfast was unparalleled, with all homemade products made daily. Highly recommended. PS. A stroll through the village is highly recommended.
Very steep walk not easily reachable with a car
Enchanting place. Angela and her husband Marino are delightful people. We had a wonderful time, we were pampered on this short getaway. The house is beautiful, the view is priceless. I recommend everyone to visit this extraordinary village.
