Su Furriadroxiu

The name Su furriadroxiu comes from the Sardinian word furriài (to withdraw, to return home) and means 'the place to come back to'. The term also refers to a single-family agropastoral settlement, typical of the land and farming structure of southern Sardinia, which fell out of use in the second half of the 20th century. Built in the early 1900s in the heart of the historic centre, the house has undergone two major renovations: the first in 1952, when a flood destroyed the village and the house was rebuilt preserving its load-bearing structure, particularly the walls made of large blocks of granite and local stone; the second between 2023 and 2025, during which we sought to conserve the original construction features, fixtures and furnishings wherever possible, while adding modern equipment and amenities to ensure comfort and wellbeing. The property offers two independent accommodations: Beranu (meaning 'spring'), the original heart of the house, and Istadi (meaning 'summer'), a one-bedroom flat on the first floor. Both are air-conditioned. Beranu is on the ground floor, approximately 85 square metres, and features a large enclosed loggia onto which all rooms open: a fully equipped eat-in kitchen, a double bedroom connected by a staircase to a twin bedroom, a living area with sofa bed and TV, and a bathroom with shower. Istadi is on the first floor, approximately 35 square metres, and comprises an enclosed loggia furnished with table, chairs, sofa and TV, a kitchenette, a bedroom with two single beds (which can also be used as a double), and a bathroom with shower. The property has a shared internal courtyard of about 80 square metres.
